This is an interactive world map meant to educate users on the international relations of the U.S. By entering a date, and selecting one or more countries the user will be provided with a summary of international relations between those countries, major developments, and key events from the last week. It can also be used as a historical resource, especially in tandem with the embedded democracy heatmap.

  • American politics rest on a fragile foundation.

  • Democracy is an invaluable privilege that must be maintained and defended.

  • Pattern of conflicts have followed the U.S. since it's inception.​

  • The spread of information and importance of a well educated population are key to maintaining a democracy.

  • Historically there have been inequalities in key areas such as voting rights, legal representation, and access to fundamental necessities, the effects of which have followed the members of the marginalized groups while the subjugation persists in ever evolving forms.

  • The U.S. has served as a beacon of democracy, and is the blueprint for many democracies around the world

  • Despite the U.S. pioneering much of modern democracy, it is still falling behind in key areas.

  • It is important to compare and contrast issues between democracies around the world.

  • What are the consistent shortcomings of democracies as it pertains to the maintenance of and progression towards a strong democracy?

  • Polarization has been, and still is, on a disturbing rise

  • The impacts of misinformation/disinformation are untold, especially as social media continues to becomes an increasingly prevalent source of information.

  • There are feelings of distrust towards the U.S. government from both sides of the aisle.

  • Meaningful political discourse is being hindered by the spread of polarization, misinformation/disinformation, and a lack of consensus on fact.

  • ​The uncertainty surrounding the safety of democracy should weigh heavy on anyone who believes in the freedoms the U.S. was founded on.

Capstone product #2

This is a satirized "informational booklet" meant to educate civilians on their new and improved system(s) of governance. I wanted to take the ridiculous things happening politically and frame them positively, in hopes it highlights the ridiculous nature of these changes. A modern take on a propaganda booklet in the style of corporate educational material.
